Where did the time go?!?

Oh dear, it's almost a year since I last posted anything on here. It's not because I don't have anything to say, quite the opposite really!! So I must get back into posting regularly. So what has happened in the last 12 months?

The website is now well established and has had lots of sales. I'm developing new products for my customers all the time. I've also just relaunched my Etsy shop and have new 'admirers' and lots of items have been favourited which is great.

Here's a small selection of my most recent needle holders.

I've also rediscovered my love of knitting.  I had an operation to treat the carpal tunnel syndrome that I had in my left hand for about 3 years.  This had stopped me knitting as my hand would go completely numb after just a few minutes.  I'm really pleased with the outcome and my hand is more or less back to normal now.  I'm slowly working my way through my wool stash (though it doesn't help when I see more yarn and just have to buy it!).  I've found some lovely sellers who dye yarn and have had to indulge.  If you haven't found them yet I can recommend indie dyer Little Boo Yarns https://www.facebook.com/littlebooyarns and also Yan-Tan-Tethera Yarns http://www.yantantetherayarns.co.uk/yarn-shop or https://www.etsy.com/uk/shop/YanTanTetheraYarns  I've bought some gorgeous wool from both of them.

I also knit for designer Sasha Kagan, and am really pleased to be able to knit for her again.  http://www.sashakagan.co.uk

Next time I will try to get some good photos of my knitting progress, but until then happy creating everyone.

Website up and running!

Well, on my last post I was having problems getting my new website launched.  After a number of emails to old supplier and new supplier I am happy to say we are all systems go on the new site.  I'm really pleased with the new look site and have received a number of orders since it's launch.  I have a promotion running to celebrate the new site.  You can get 20% of your whole order (excluding postage and packing) just by entering Launch14 at the checkout.

It's so much easier to use than the old site and the support is 500% better!!  I get to contact the same person every time so they know my site and what the issues are...............and they're based in the UK.

I've also manage to reach 850 'likes' on my Facebook page, so to celebrate this I'm having another giveaway.

You can enter here

I've added some new products to the website.  A very talented glass artist - Paul of Phoenix Glass has made me some fantastic sheep, owl and cupcake glass beads.  I have made some of them up into clip on charms.  The beads are individually handmade by Paul, so no 2 are ever the same.  Before my next post I hope to make up some of the cupcake beads.

Until then enjoy your crafting!

New website

Ooh dear - quite a while since my last post!!  Well it's been very busy here at Yarn & Craft studio and I even fitted in a couple of weeks holiday in India, an op to release my carpal tunnel in the hopes I get some feeling back in my hand.

The big project has been rebuilding my website - sounded simple but that wasn't the reality.  I started off with a new package from my existing supplier.  All went well until I started to upload the pictures - they didn't look good.  An email to the supplier and i was told my photos had to be square - does your camera take square photos - mine doesn't.  Changing the photos just distorted them - suppliers suggestion was to use a programme that made them square by adding large white borders.  Looked awful, but seemingly no other option available.  Next step search for new supplier!!

Quickly found a new supplier but had to start building the site from scratch again.  That done the process of transferring the domain name began - and that's where I am at now!!  A relatively simple process you might think - but not with an incompetent supplier - my new site is currently flipping from the old version to the new version - I am waiting for suppliers to contact me to get this sorted - not holding my breath that it's going to be anytime soon!!

Hopefully by the time I write my next blog I will be able to report that it's successfully up and running.

In the meantime I'll leave you with some pictures of the goodies available.

Little glass owl clip on charm

 Sheep project bag

Small clip on charms

Have a great day whatever you're all up to.

Busy, busy, busy week

Wow - well that was a busy week.  Last week I was posting about the 'Giveaway' I was having on Facebook to celebrate reaching a huge milestone for me of 600 likes, now I have reached a ginormous 754 likes!!  Woo hoo and I've found some really talented people with great pages.

A few are having their own giveaway - check out the lovely Dotty Bo's giveaway or another lovely page Helen Fairweather Art.

I've made a lot of new stitch markers and needle holders this week.  Many of them for orders, but some new ones to go on the new website.  Fingers crossed it should be up and running by Valentines Day on 14th February.  It does mean that the current website is looking a little depleted of stock as i am busy listing all new stock on the new site.  I'm really excited about it as it will let me offer customers discount codes and gift vouchers.  it will even let customers earn reward points on their purchases that they can then 'spend' on items in the shop.  One of my lovely customers has done a bit of road testing for me to see if it all works properly and is easy to navigate.

I've got project bags cut out ready to sew................just need a few more hours in the day.

Now I'm off for a cup of tea and some chocolate..................................until next time.
